Tommie "Tom" D. Satterwhite was born in Wichita Falls, Texas on September 9, 1938 t0 Eddie and Lottie
  
  Satterwhite. He passed peacefully into the Lord's presence on May 31, 2021 and heard the Lord's words,
  
  "Well done thy good and faithful servant."
 
  Tom graduated from Wichita Falls High School, Midwestern State University with a bachelor’s degree,
  
  and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity Degree. He and the love of his
  
  life, Glenda Garner, met while both were in high school and after a four year courtship, they were
  
  married, with her preceding him in death in January 2018. The couple enjoyed 58 years of marriage and
  
  had two daughters.
 
  Tom responded to God's call and began pastoring while a student at Seminary at Tanglewood, Texas.
  
  During the next 38 years, he served as pastor at First Baptist Churches of Santo, Ranger, Seagraves, and
  
  De Leon. He also served as pastor of Heights Baptist Church of Temple, Texas. Additionally, he was
  
  pastor of First Southern Baptist Church of Pueblo, Colorado and Immanuel Baptist of Fort Collins,
  
  Colorado.
 
  While pastoring in Colorado for 8 years he served a two-year term as president of the Colorado Baptist
  
  General Convention and four years as a director on The Southern Baptist Convention's Home Mission
  
  Board. (Now called the North America Mission Board)
 
  After retiring from full time pastorate, he was privileged to preach, supply and serve as interim pastor in
  
  39 churches in and around Abilene.
 
  Tom was preceded in death by his parents and his wife. He is survived by two daughters, Kimberly
  
  Howell and husband John, and Alicia Reddell and husband Dennis. He is also survived by four
  
  grandchildren, Derek Reddell and wife Hayden, Luke Howell, Ashley Simpson and husband Mike, and
  
  Sarah Reddell. He had one great grandson, David Charles Reddell.
 
  A private family graveside service will be held at the Potosi Cemetery. Services will be provided under
  
  the direction of Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut Street, Abilene, Texas.

  Abilene, Texas, 79602 or to your favorite charity.
