Thorne Rosa King

• Thorne Rosa was born at home in Roby, Fisher County on August 23, 1928. Her parents were John Thorne Lovett and Roye Tefteller Lovett. She lived In Roby all her schooldays from Elementary thru senior year.  On November 19th, 1944, Thorne Rosa married to Tom King. While Tom was overseas in the military, she worked in County agents' office in the Roby Courthouse.

Once Tom came home from serving, they started their family and were blessed with four wonderful children, Tommy Jay King, Joe Don King, Jack Lovett king, and Janet Carol Wylie. Together, the family built KPRO Inc and worked together in the business for many years until Tom sold the business to the boys in order to retire.

Thorne Rosa enjoyed playing bridge, golf, and watching her sons and grandchildren in their sports activities.

She was preceded in death by her spouse Tom King, sons Tommy Jay King and Jack Lovett King and a daughter in law Sharron Ellen King. She was also preceded in death by her parents, John Thorne Lovett and Roye Lovett, her brother Don Lovett and his wife Bobbie Jane Lovett and Tom's parents, Tommy Howard King and Jonnie Weeks King.

Survivors include a son, Joe Don King and spouse Lea Ella, daughter-in-laws; Jeannie King and Victoria King, daughter, Jan King Wylie and husband Mike Wylie along with 13 grandchildren; Kimberly Seckler and spouse Paulo, Jeffrey King and spouse Michelle, Jason King and spouse Mabel, Dawn King, Jonathon King and spouse Tabitha, Kyle King and spouse Morgan, Chade Galle and spouse Laura, Clay Galle, Sam King, Nixon Wylie and spouse Nicole, Joe Bob Wylie and spouse Trisha, Kelsey Wylie and spouse Elizabeth, and Dustin Smith and spouse Lindy. 26 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren. In addition, she is survived nieces Claudia Lovett and Donna Jones and nephew Rob Lovett as well as many other extended family members and close friends.

A funeral service will be held on Monday May 5th, 2025 at 10:00 am in the chapel of Piersall Funeral Directors, with a visitation beginning that morning at 9:00 am. A graveside service at the Texas State Veteran Cemetery will be at 11:00 am immediately following the service.
