It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Our father Roberto Becerra. A Rosery will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at 5:00pm at Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut Street. Funeral service with be on Saturday, September 5th, at 11:00am with reception to follow at Episcopal Church of the Heavenly Rest at 602 Meander Street in Abilene.
Roberto Becerra was born on September 13, 1965, in Abilene, Texas to his parents Manuel and Jovita Becerra. He was the youngest of 11 children. He passed away on August 26, 2026, in his home leaving behind a legacy of laughter, love, and unforgettable memories. His life was filled with creativity, humor, and the cherished company of family and friends.
In 1984, Roberto proudly graduated from Cooper High School. On October 3, 1992, he married the love of his life, Melissa Becerra. They were married 34 years. They welcomed 2 wonderful children, Jessica Becerra and Robert Becerra, Jr. His role as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather was one of his greatest joys, and he embraced every moment spent with his loved ones.
Roberto had a profound love for painting. He also found joy in gardening and tending to plants with the same care and attention he gave to those around him. He loved music and playing the drums and on Sunday afternoons he loved cheering on the Dallas Cowboys.
Known for his warm smile and magnetic personality, Roberto had a gift for making people laugh. His sense of humor brightened even the darkest of days, leaving those around him with hearts a little lighter and spirits a little higher.
He is proceeded in death by his parents Manuel and Jovita Becerra, Brother Johnny Becerra, Sisters Carmen Becerra and Melisa Paredes and Grandson Xavier Becerra.
Roberto leaves behind Wife Melissa Becerra, Daughter Jessica Becerra, Son Robert Becerra, Jr and wife Alexis. Grandchildren Jacqueline, Jacey, Joyce and Justina Aguado. Brother Maunel Becerra, Jr(Sonia), Sisters Dorthy Guerra(Arnold), Jovita Torres(Rodger), Juanita Perez, Bibi Landeros (Juan), Julia Gracia, Sister-in-law Shannon Perrault, Mother-in-law Sandra Perrault (Fernado), Brother-in-law Shane Perrault(Dora) and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Father David Romanik, Mother Ashley Powers, Sister-in-law Shannon Perrault for being his caregiver and best friend Joe Fernandez and everyone at Piersall Funeral Directors and Abilene EMS for their unwavering support and assistance in fulfilling Roberto's final wishes. Their kindness and dedication have been a source of great comfort during this time.
Roberto's spirit will live on in the laughter he inspired, the love he shared, and the beautiful memories he created. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
