Ralph Mason Davidson

Mason Davidson, 90 of Abilene, passed away July 16, 2026, after a long and productive life.

He was the son of Fred and Pearl Davidson and was born in San Angelo, Texas. He grew up on the South Plains and graduated from High School in Wilson, Texas and went on to Texas Tech University, where he received a degree in Electrical Engineering.

After college Mason went to work for West Texas Utilities (now AEP) where he worked 35 years. He held engineering assignments in Childress, San Angelo, and Abilene and retired as Director of Purchasing and Material Management in Abilene. Mason proudly served his country in the U.S. army during the Korean war, 4th Infantry Division, 44th Field Artillery.

He is survived by his wife Madge of the home, two children Gail Davidson of Florida and Gwen Parish and her husband Mark, grandchildren: Corbin and wife Emily and Jill and her husband Dillon, great-grandchildren; Rowan and Isla. In addition, Mason is survived by two stepchildren; Eric Schreiber of Georgia and Sondra and her husband Van Hoskins of Round Rock; 5 step grandchildren and 5 step great-grandsons. Mason was preceded in death by his parents, older sister Ann Davidson of Canyon, Texas, and an older brother Fred Davidson of Gruver, Texas.

For many years Mason was a member of the First Christian Church. In the past few years, he attended Pioneer Drive Baptist Church.

Masons wishes were to be cremated and interred at the Texas State Veteran Cemetery at Abilene. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, July 21st at 1:00pm at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery with Steve Ridgell officiating. A visitation will be held Monday evening the 20th from 5-6:30pm at Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut St.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the Christian Service Center, 3185 N 10", Abilene, Tx 79603
