Preston Jack Dale Davis

Some souls aren’t measured by the number of days they spend on this earth, but by the depth of the love they leave behind. Preston Jack Dale Davis was born on May 19, 2026, and on June 20, 2026—after 32 precious, mighty days—he traded this world for eternity.

Though his time here was heartbreakingly short, Preston’s life burned bright. He was a perfect baby, beautiful and calm, with the quiet wisdom of an old soul. From his very first breath, he was fiercely loved. In just 32 days, he changed the hearts of everyone who held him, saw him, or whispered his name. His tiny hands never had the chance to grow strong, yet they forged bonds that even death cannot break.

Preston leaves behind his loving parents, Randy and Carolyne Davis; his proud big sister Parker Raye Davis; and his protective big brothers Ryden Elwayne Brubaker and Mason Scott Key Davis.

He is also survived by his paternal grandparents Billy and Lisa Davis; maternal grandparents Christi & Cody Polvado, Chris & Tracey Bennington, and Eric and Jennifer Meuth; and his maternal great‑grandparents Dale and Carol Bennington, Kenny and Cathy Lancaster, and Wayne and Juanita Yarbrough.

He leaves behind his uncles and aunts: Cody Davis and Lydia Lawson; Catherynn (Aunt Cat) & Floyd Yearian; Christyan (Aunt Monster) & Dalton (Uncle D) Carter; Camrynn (Cam) Bennington; Taylor and Tara Goff; Slader Goff; great‑aunts Cary Key, Lori Key, Elizabeth McClain, and Danita Bench; great‑uncle Matt Key; great‑uncle and great‑aunt Orin & Erin McClain; cousins Tayden Goff and Constance Louise (Connie Lou) Yearian; along with many other beloved cousins, relatives, and friends who will carry his memory for the rest of their lives.

Waiting to welcome him beyond the veil were his maternal uncle Gavin Perkins; paternal great‑grandparents George Davis, Rutha Davis, and Stan & June Key; maternal great‑grandparents Cecil & Louise Perkins, Delores (Hoot) Bennington, and Delores Ann Olive; maternal great‑uncles Cecil R. Perkins and Greg Bennington; maternal great‑aunt Susan Perkins; and great‑aunt and great‑uncle Debra and Jackie McDowell.

There are storms that break trees, and there are storms that break hearts. Losing Preston is the latter. Yet love does not die with the body, and neither does the bond between a family and their son. His story was written in only 32 days, but it was carved into our souls forever. He will remain our smallest warrior—forever loved, forever missed, forever part of us.

“Sometimes the smallest things take up the most room in your heart.” — A.A. Milne
