Nancy Ann Young

Nancy Ann Young, born on June 6, 1947 in Lubbock, Texas, passed away May 3, 2026 in Abilene, Texas, after a battle with pneumonia. She was the cornerstone of her family whose life was defined by love, generosity, and deep faith in her Lord and Savior. A graveside service will be on Thursday, May 7, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at the Roby Cemetery in Roby, Texas.

Nancy married the love of her life, Hubert Young, on September 8, 1967, and together they built a family rooted in faith and togetherness. She was the most loving and fun "Mimi" to her grandchildren, Lizzie and Dalen Ragsdale, who were the light of her life. Her grandchildren were so important to her, and they loved her beyond measure.

Nancy had such a heart for others that extended well beyond her own front door. She poured herself into her community in countless ways. She volunteered faithfully with Houses for Healing, driving patients to doctor appointments and lifting them up with encouragement and prayer along the way. She cooked meals for members of her church family, volunteered with Meals on Wheels, and Abilene Hospice. Nancy was a prayer warrior who would storm the gates of Heaven as an intercessor for her friends and family. She always looked forward to Bible study with her sisters in Christ.

Nancy is survived by her beloved husband, Hubert Young; her son, Brent Young; her daughter, Stephanie RagsdaIe; Son in Law Doug; and her cherished grandchildren, Dalen Ragsdale and Lizzie Ragsdale.

Nancy lived her life by a verse close to her heart, and it is only fitting that her family shares it now: 'Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3:54.
