Nancy Ellen Prince

Nov 11, 1951 — Oct 15, 2026

Abilene

Nancy Ellen Prince, 74, of Abilene, Texas went to be with the Lord on October 15, 2026 at her home in Abilene.  Funeral service will be on Tuesday, October 20, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut Street.  Visitation will be on Monday, October 19 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Nancy was born in San Francisco, California on November 11, 1951. Her parents were Claude Bernard ‘Mac’ McNulty and Delpha Nadine McNulty née Cullen.

Nancy was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay area. She graduated from South San Francisco High School in 1969. Nancy met Larry while she was in Junior High School. They married on July 11, 1970 a year after Larry joined the United States Air Force. She was a true Air Force mom traveling to most of the places he was stationed over 20 years.

Her son Andy was born on March 4, 1973 and her second son, Eddie, was born on January 25, 1978, (Larry was also born on January 25!) While in Germany, Nancy and Larry found out their oldest son, Andy, was Deaf. They immediately started learning sign language. After Germany they went to California where Nancy worked in a child care facility. Soon after learning enough sign language she started interpreting for Deaf kids in school.

She and Larry moved to Texas in 1984 to be stationed at Dyess AFB. She almost immediately started working for the school system as a sign language interpreter in Abilene and continued that job for 28 years. Both Larry and Nancy were certified sign language interpreters for many years. Both she and Larry retired in 2013. Nancy and Larry lost their Deaf son, Andy, on April 14, 2019.

Even though Nancy was raised in the Catholic faith, she became a Christian through baptism on August 17, 1969 at the San Mateo Church of Christ in California. She has given her heart and soul to God through Jesus Christ ever since. We are heartbroken but it comforts us that she is now in the arms of Jesus.

Nancy is preceded in death by her father, ‘Mac’ McNulty and her mother, Nadine, and her loving son, Andrew Prince.

Nancy is survived by her loving husband Larry, her son Edward, her daughter in law, Adrianne, her two grandchildren, Charles and Eve Prince from San Marcos and her sister Trudy Ingerson from Nevada, half-sister Arleen Waits from California and her half-brother Michael Vorpahl in New Jersey as well as many nieces, nephews, and family friends.
