Maria Garcia

Maria Garcia, 77, of Abilene, passed away on Tuesday, December 30, 2025. A visitation with the family will be on Thursday, January 8, 2026, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut Street. Funeral service will be on Friday, January 9th at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Piersall Funeral Directors.

Mary was born on July 20, 1948, in Alpine, Texas to Gregorio Garcia and Eufemia Gomez. She resided in Odessa, Texas, where she made numerous friends and lot of memories. She enjoyed being outside, exploring the world. Mary knew no stranger…she loved everyone she came across. She also enjoyed music and dancing. Most of all, she loved her family. Mary would never say “Goodbye,” it was always “See you later.”

Mary is survived by her siblings and in-laws; Easter Valdez of Predisio, Texas; Gregorio Gomez Garcia, Jr. of Abilene; Gloria Garcia of Abilene; Margie Garcia of Abilene; Jose Herrera of Abilene; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Celia Barrera, brother Carlos Garcia, sister Gregoria Moreno, sister Virginia Herrera and brother Frank Garcia.
