It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Laura Sue Riffle, a beloved daughter, mother, and grandmother, who departed this life on May 9, 2025, at the age of 61. Laura was born on December 21, 1963, in Abilene, Texas, where she spent her life nurturing her family and friends with unwavering faith and boundless love.
Sue's devotion to her family was evident in everything she did. She was a proud mother to her daughters, Natosha Ogembo, Misty Crim and Christin Riffle and adoring grandmother to her cherished grandchildren. Her love extended deeply to her parents, Cletus Stanfield and Flossie Garner. Sue's warmth, kindness, and commitment to her family will be profoundly missed, though her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her.
Sue dedicated her career to the grocery industry, working diligently in produce at Market Street. Her friendly smile and caring nature made an impact on her coworkers and customers alike-a reflection of the compassion she carried into every day of her life.
A woman of deep faith, Sue found joy in the small moments and connected with others in meaningful ways. She is remembered not only for her love of family but also for the light she brought into every room she entered.
Sue is survived by her sister, Diane Gilbert brother's Larry Sommers and wife Gwen, Gary Sommers and Loyd Stanfield, daughters, Natosha "Tosha" Ogembo, Misty Crim and Christin Riffle as well as her grandchildren Dreon (my handsome) Collier, Jr Carswell, Kaden Carswell, Jayden Crim, Brianna Crim, Danielle Jones, Colton Gann, Madoc Drew and Mason Reynolds, great-grandchildren Eurie, Evelea, Xerayah, Phoenix and Audrina and best friend Christina Rose. She was preceded in death by her parents Flossie Garner and Cletus Stanfield, her sister's - Patricia Roberts, Viola Goodman & Lynda Gonzales.
Funeral services will be held to honor Sue's life and legacy on Monday May 19th at 10:00 am in the chapel of Piersall Funeral Directors with a burial to follow at Denton Valley Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest next to her mother. A gathering of friends and family will take place Sunday afternoon the 18th from 3:00-5:00 pm, allowing us all to reflect on the love we shared with this remarkable woman.
In this time of sorrow, we invite everyone to come together to celebrate Sue's life, her unwavering love for her family, and the profound impact she had on all who knew her. She will remain in our hearts and memories forever.
