Judith Anne Miller Daniels, lovingly known as Judy, was born on July 25, 1943, in Abilene, Texas, to James Womack and Robbie Nell Miller. She passed away peacefully at her home on February 19, 2026.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 24, at The Episcopal Church of the Heavenly Rest, 602 Meander Street. A visitation with the family will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 23, at Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut Street.
A proud West Texan at heart, Judy graduated from Abilene High School and attended Texas Tech University before returning home, where she met and married the love of her life, Harold George “Danny” Daniels, on March 4, 1969. Their marriage was marked by deep devotion, joyful partnership, and steadfast love until Danny’s passing in 2016. Together, they owned and operated Abilene Business Equipment and M Print for more than 50 years.
Judy’s greatest calling was her family. She poured herself wholeheartedly into her roles as wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother—the roles she treasured most. Her children were the center of her world, and her love extended richly to their families.
To her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she was “Juju.” Her home was a place of laughter, candy drawers, summer swims, warm fires in winter, and long conversations. She welcomed not only family, but friends, neighbors, and friends of friends—always making room for one more. Hospitality came naturally to her. She was an exceptional cook, a gracious hostess, and a traditional woman who believed the details mattered because people mattered.
Her faith was the steady foundation of her life. A devoted member of The Episcopal Church of the Heavenly Rest, Judy faithfully served in numerous ministries, including Soup Sisters, Wednesday night dinners, the Mother Amanda Watson Bible Study, and the church’s food outreach. She lived her faith not loudly, but consistently—through kindness, humility, and quiet acts of service.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Danny Daniels, and her parents, James and Robbie Nell Miller.
She is survived by her children: Kimberly Paige Carleton and husband Phil of Midland, TX; James Bradbury Daniels and wife Tara of Aledo, TX; Christopher Hunter Daniels and wife Betsy of Woodway, TX. She is also survived by her eight beloved grandchildren: McKenzie Lane and husband Will; Madison and Sam Carleton; Will, Brooks, and Hunt Daniels; and Margaret and Archer Daniels; and four great-grandchildren: Claire, Emma, Lilly, and James Lane and cousin, Michael Owen.
Honorary pallbearers are Lynn Anderson, Zac Atkinson, John Estes, Michael Kendrick, Jim Snyder, Steve Suttle and Robert Wagstaff.
Memorials may be made to The Episcopal Church of the Heavenly Rest.
