John Jose Flores, Jr.

John Jose Flores, Jr, 59 of Abilene, passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2017.  A memorial to honor John’s life will be held on Friday, November 10, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut Street.

John was born on December 16, 1957 in Victoria, Texas to Juan Flores, Sr. and Basiliga Ybarra.  John’s family later moved to Abilene where John attended middle school and high school.  John played football for Abilene High and went to work in the oil field while still in high school.  John loved his family and loved to cook on the grill in his backyard for his family and friends.

John was preceded in death by his father, Juan Jose Flores, Sr., and his mother, Basiliga Ronguillo, brothers Rudy Balderas, Joe Balderas, Robert Balderas and Joe Angel Moreno, and a sister, Emma Balderas.  He is survived by his wife, Sandra Flores, sisters Rosa Rincon of Avondale, Arizona, Lydia Palash and husband Leon of Abilene and Julia Paulino of Abilene; brother Johnny Balderas and wife Helen of Victoria, Texas; and sisters-in-law Alice Balderas and Glenda Balderas of Abilene and Patricia Mejia of Victoria, Texas.
