Jimmy Lopez Solis

Jimmy Lopez Solis, 78 of Clyde, passed away Friday August 14, 2026 at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday August 18, 2026 at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 837 Jeanette St. in Abilene. Burial will follow at the Abilene City Cemetery. A visitation will be held Monday evening the 17th at Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut St from 5-6 pm with a Rosary to begin at 6pm.

Jimmy was born Santiago Solis to Alberto and Ortencia Solis on October 1, 1947, in Harrisburg. Ohio. He grew up in Abilene and started working construction at an early age. Jimmy could handle anything, from road construction to complete home remodels and renovations; he knew his way around tools and building materials. Jimmy married Amparo “Amy” Alveraz in 1976 and celebrated 50 years of marriage earlier this year.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Jerry Solis and Alber Solis; daughter Sandra Solis, son Benny Solis and stepson Jesse Gongora, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Amy Solis; son Norman Gongora; sisters Ortencia Estrada and Yolanda Maldonado and grandsons Jacob Gongora, Jesse, Samuel and Donovon.
