Gloria Lynn Dawley, age 58, of Abilene, TX peacefully passed away on May 2, 2025 at her home, almost four years after she was diagnosed with cancer. She was born on August 20, 1966, in Mason, TX to the late Elva Mireles and Manuel Ramon.
Gloria lived a remarkable life that was marked by love, strength, perseverance, and unwavering faith in God. She was a meticulous housekeeper and she had tremendous pride in her work and took great care of the homes that were entrusted to her. When Gloria was able to retire later in life, she enjoyed traveling the country with her husband, her friends, and her children; but her favorite place to visit was Fredericksburg, which she frequented often. Gloria adored her children and grandchildren, and attended their games and activities as much as she could. She will be remembered not by the way her life ended, but for the way she lived, and for the profound impact she had on everyone that knew her.
Gloria is survived by her husband, Jim Dawley; daughter Annette Hinds, son-in-law Tyler Hinds, granddaughters Luna and Zoe, daughter Amy Schultz, son-in-law Kyle Schultz, granddaughter Sophia, son Steven Santana, daughter-in-law Bianca Santana, granddaughter Khloé, grandsons Marcus and Mateo, son Monte Murillo, daughter-in-law Lyndsey Murillo, granddaughters Abigaile and Adalyne, and grandsons Myles and Mason.
Those fortunate enough to know Gloria knew that she was a long-time member of Pioneer Drive Baptist Church and an avid churchgoer, devoted and delighted to be a child of God. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Pioneer Drive Baptist Church in memory of Gloria: https://pioneerdrive.org/give/
At Gloria’s request, no funeral or memorial service will be held and her ashes will be spread in Fredericksburg.
