Frank Britton Smith Jr, 75, took his first breath in heaven on April 15, 2026. He was born in Santa Fe, N.M. on Oct. 24, 1950 to Frank and Miquella Smith. He grew up in Santa Fe, N.M, Frank was a proud American and served in the Army Signal Corps as a motion picture photographer. He also attended New Mexico State University majoring in agriculture where he received his bachelors, masters and doctorate degrees. While in college, he met his future bride Gail, the love of his life, to whom he was married to for 46 wonderful years.
He is survived by his bride Gail, his children Gary, Jennifer, Matthew, Faith, Joy, Timothy, and Hope. Frank always enjoyed spending time with his son-in-laws (best friends) Timothy and Jeremy.
He also adored his grandchildren Ellie, Colby, Jayden, Gary Junior, Alexis and Briella.
Frank is survived by his brothers and sisters: Christine, Orlando, Martin, Bernice, Yolanda, and John. Was preceded in death by parents Frank and Miquella: and his brother Ben.
Frank treasured his time with his family and the family traditions of cousins reunions, holidays and just fun times that included his niece Brittany, and nephews Jordan, and Trevor. He was the most loving husband, father, papa, friend and prayer warrior to so many.
His top passion was the Lord. Frank was referred to as "The Bibleman" when he was a volunteer chaplain at the hospital in California. During his life he always went out of his way to pray for others. His relationship with the Lord impacted so many people both in the United States and overseas. Dr.Frank Smith Phd loved the many years he worked in agriculture throughout the country and internationally.
In leau of flowers the family has requested contributions to be made to Houses for Healing in Abilene, Texas.
A private celebration of life will be held by the family at a later date. Forever and always we proclaim, “To God Be The Glory!"
