Frances Yvonne Ragle Sinclair, 92, passed away on Friday, May 22, 2026, in Abilene, Texas. The celebration of life with Bradley Steele officiating will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, June 6th, in the University Church of Christ sanctuary in Abilene, Texas. The family will receive friends following the service. Everyone is encouraged to wear florals to honor Yvonne’s love of gardening.
Yvonne was born to George Raymond and Zula Ray Ragle on September 28, 1933 in a house in Glorieta, New Mexico. She graduated from Plainview High School in 1951 and attended Abilene Christian College, where she met her future husband, Haskell Sinclair. While at ACC, she was in a singing group called Three Bees and a Honey. Haskell and Yvonne were married on November 26, 1954.
Yvonne worked as a secretary for Gary McCaleb and Bob Hunter from 1964 to 1971. In 1972, she worked at Mann Junior High as secretary to Principal Lewis Duncan. From 1973 to 1980, she worked as a secretary at Lincoln Junior High, where she saved some original Abilene High memorabilia from being thrown away. It is now on display at the Abilene High museum.
In the early 1980s, Yvonne became the first voice you heard when you called the AISD. She retired in December of 1991 and moved with Haskell to Animas, New Mexico. After they both retired, they moved to Ruidoso, New Mexico in 1996 and became involved with the Gateway Church of Christ community there. After their 50th wedding anniversary, they moved back to Abilene to be closer to their granddaughters.
Yvonne and Haskell’s 59-year marriage was blessed with two sons, Jerry and Jimmy. Yvonne and Haskell loved antiquing together, filling their house with interesting pieces. Yvonne also loved gardening, singing, and writing songs and poems, and was always sharing her projects with family and friends. Because her childhood was difficult, Yvonne’s Granny Ragle was central to her life and instilled in her the importance of grandmothers. She always tried to make her granddaughters’ time with her fun and special.
Yvonne and Haskell are charter members of University Church of Christ in Abilene. She had strong faith and was continually studying. The last book she was reading was Max Lucado’s “What Comes Next”.
Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents, George and Zula Ragle, brother Jerry Ragle, husband Haskell Sinclair, son Jimmy Sinclair, and nephews Gary and Greg Ragle.
Survivors include her son Jerry Sinclair and wife Liz of Abilene, her daughter-in-law Heather Sinclair of Dallas, Texas and her two daughters Avery and Ellery, her sister Patsy Yarborough of Midland, Texas, her nephew Dee Morris of Dallas, her nephew Gabe Morris and wife Julie of Amarillo, Texas, her nephew Jason Morris and wife Kate of Monroe, Louisiana, her niece Allison Ragle of Ft. Worth, Texas, her granddaughters Katherine Kinnaman and husband Andrew of Abilene, Libby Gough and husband Travis of Hurst, Texas, and great-grandson Wesley Gough, as well as extended family and friends.
The family would like to thank Haley Alvarez (one of Yvonne’s beloved “señoritas”) and the Hendrick Hospice Care nurses for their compassionate care of Yvonne at the end of her life.
