Ernest Lloyd Adams

Ernest Lloyd Adams, 86 of Abilene, passed away on December 19, 2025. A public visitation will be on Saturday, December 27, 2025 from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut Street, with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m.

Ernie was born on December 15, 1939 in Borger, Texas to J.W. and Jimmie Adams. He graduated from Michigan State University, where he taught in the education department. He later taught at Florida State University and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.  Ernie was an avid golfer who carried a single digit handicap until the very end, while also having 17 hole-in-ones. Ernie loved his kids, grandkids and friends with all of his heart.

He was preceded in death by his parents, J.W. and Jimmie Adams. He is survived by his wife Kathye, sons Joshua Adams and wife Johna and Zachery Adams, and grandchildren Jacob and Michael Adams and Vivian Torres.
