Elsie Imogene (Jean) Burrow, 99, Passed away peacefully on June 29, 2026, surrounded by her son and daughter. Jean was born, 1926 in Spur, Texas. She married James Alvin Lewis in 1945, with whom she was had two children, Sandy and Tom. James lost is life in Korea in 1950.
In 1954, she married Wordie Burrow, a preacher at the Reno Church of Christ. Her next year were spent Supporting him as a preacher in several locations, including Panama. After returning to the United States, she helped him as he preached at many small churches. She was the one who was behind the scenes enabling him to preach the Word. Jean delighted in working in her yard and garden and quilting. She spent her final two years at Chisholm Court Assisted Living. Special thanks to those caregivers, aids and nurses. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Jean was preceded in death by Wordie, her parents and two sisters, Nita and Catherine, and one brother, Lloyd. She is survived by her children, Sandy O‘Dell of Abilene, Texas and Tom Lewis of Waco, Texas, six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She is also survived by two nieces, Julian Smith and Glenda Bomar.
