Donald Lee Kehl

Donald Lee Kehl, loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, age 84, passed away from this earth on September 26, 2025.  Funeral service will be on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Southern Hills Church of Christ.  A visitation will start at 9:00 a.m. that same morning.  Burial will follow at the Tye Cemetery, under the direction of Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut Street.  

Don was born on November 4, 1940, in Wichita, Kansas, to Lewis and Leona Kehl, both of whom preceded him in death. Don and Rita Davis, who preceded him into the arms of Jesus just 6 months ago, were married on October 10, 1959. Don and Rita were also preceded in death by their stillborn daughter, Susan.

Don’s life was focused on loving God with his whole being and his neighbor, including his enemies, as he loved himself. He modeled this by His love and devotion to Rita, their children, and their families. This is the legacy he leaves us.

Survivors include son Kevin Kehl (Susan), and daughters, Kelly Sansing (Steve), and Keri Anderson (Ryan). Grandchildren include Braden Kehl (Alexis), Brooke Kehl, Matthew Evans (Paige), Taylor Pinkerton, Hunter Pinkerton, Carli Dawson (Dyllon), Jacob Anderson, Joshua Anderson, and Jillian Anderson. Great-grandchildren include Conner Evans, Emma Evans, Caitlyn Howell, and Aubree Dawson.
