Daniel Mark Cole

“Those we love don’t go away; they walk beside us every day.”

Daniel (Danny) M. Cole, beloved husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on November 6, 2025, at the age of 67. Danny was born on August 22, 1958, and grew up in Quinna and Dumas, Texas. In 1965, his family moved to Abilene, where Danny later graduated from Abilene High School. A visitation will be held on Sunday, November 9, 2025 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. at Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut Street. Funeral service will be on Monday, November 10, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Piersall Funeral Directors.

Danny was known for his kind heart, sense of humor, and genuine friendship. He was a true friend to many and never met a stranger. He worked for many years at the West Texas Rehabilitation Center, where he had the opportunity to meet countless wonderful people, including several celebrities. Danny also worked at the Kiva Inn, where he met the love of his life, Virginia. The two were married on June 28, 1986, and shared nearly four decades of love and companionship.

Danny is preceded in death by his father, Rusty Cole; his sister, Wanda Truelock; and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Keesee.  He is survived by his devoted wife, Virginia Cole; his mother, Ramona Fagan; his nephew, Rusty Truelock; his niece, Tasha Peterson; great-nephew, Kendon Varner; and his step-sisters, Brenda Olson and Gaylene Allen. He also leaves behind many other family members and close friends, including his lifelong friends Kenneth Ellis, Terry Young, and Rhonda Staples.

Danny’s family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Kinder Hearts and Caprock Home Health for their compassionate care and support during his final days. Danny will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, but his warmth, laughter, and friendship will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
