Charles Aaron Rundberg “Chuck,” husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, died peacefully on January 21, 2026 at the age of 91. He was born on July 9, 1934, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin and died in Abilene, Texas.

Chuck grew up in a farming community in Wisconsin and was determined to leave his rural roots and experience the world. Chuck began this dream by attending the college of his childhood faith, Olivet Nazarene College, now University in Bourbonnais, Illinois. He graduated in 1958 with a degree in Business. Chuck married his college sweetheart Rheta Wiese on June 8, 1956. They were married 62 years until her death in 2018. They had three children Ron, Bob, and Rhonda. During their married life, Chuck and Rheta lived in Bourbonnais, Muncie, Indiana, and Olathe, Kansas.

After college, Chuck worked as a draftsman at A.O. Smith and later he worked as a Sales Engineer for Maxon Corporation. Chuck eventually started his own company which he called CARECO (Charles and Rheta Engineering Company). This was a successful venture for many years and both Ron and Both worked for the family business.

Volunteering in the church was a place of significant meaning for Chuck. He led numerous volunteer “work and witness” teams around the world for College Church of the Nazarene, Olathe, Kansas. Additionally, Chuck served as “Builder’s Representative” for the current College Church sanctuary.

Following the death of Rheta, Chuck married Sandy Duckworth in 2019. They moved to Abilene, Texas where he attended Pioneer Baptist Church in Abilene. Throughout his life, Chuck loved traveling and spending time on the water.

Chuck is survived by his wife Sandy; his children Ron Rundberg (Anne) of Olathe; Bob Rundberg (Laurie) of Olathe; and Rhonda Birchard (Kevin) of Lake Oswego, Oregon; 16 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife Rheta and a great-great-granddaughter.
