Betty Jo Sherrell, our beloved mother passed away peacefully in her home on April 21, 2026 at the age of 90. A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 24, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the Potosi Cemetery, where family and friends will come together to honor Betty's life and legacy. Prior to the service, a public visitation will take place at Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut Street, on Thursday April 23rd from 5:00 - 7:00 PM, providing an opportunity for all who knew and loved her to pay their respects.

Born on December 31, 1935, in Abilene, Texas to Alonzo and Isabelle Underwood; Betty lived a life marked by hard work, family devotion, and cherished memories.

Betty had a career with the U.S. Postal Service; where she rose to the esteemed position of United States Postmaster in Lytle, Texas. Her commitment to serving her community was reflected in her work ethic and the relationships she built over the years. She found joy in the simple things and took pride in her professional achievements.

An avid golfer and bowler; Betty also enjoyed time spent on the lake, creating lasting memories at the family lake house. Her love of life brought joy to family gatherings and moments shared with loved ones. Above all else; Betty was a devoted mother to her daughter, Debbie Antilley and son's David Sherrell and Bernie Juarez.

Betty Sherrell will be remembered for her kindness, dedication, and the love she imparted to those around her. Her spirit will remain forever in the hearts of her family and friends.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, brothers A.W. Underwood, Doug Underwood, Tex Underwood and Calvin Underwood, and her sister, Sue Henley. She is survived by sisters Laverne Staten, Sharon Reeves and Pepper Thompson; daughter Debbie Antilley and son David Sherrell and son Bernie Juarez; grandchildren Rusty Antilley and Emily Taylor; and great grandchildren Reese, Rawley, Ryan and Ryder Antilley and Margot, Ida and Imagen Taylor, and numerous nieces and nephews.
