It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Alfredo Gonzalez, who left us peacefully on September 13, 2025, at the age of 83. A public viewing and visitation will be held at Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut Street on Sunday, September 14, 2025, from 1:00 - 5:00 PM, where friends and family are invited to pay their respects.

Born on April 3, 1942, in Nueva Rosita, Coahuila, Mexico, to Jesus and Manuela Gonzalez, Alfredo was proud of his heritage and made his home in Abilene.

Alfredo dedicated many of his years to serving as a farmer, mechanic and a groundskeeper for the City of Abilene. He was known for his meticulous work - from creating the sharpest lawn edges to showcasing his skills with a weed eater. His passion for planting rose bushes and maintaining lush gardens reflected his love for nature and hard work.Family meant everything to Alfredo. He loved spending time visiting his children and grand children and imparting the values of diligence and pride in a job well done. 

An outdoor enthusiast at heart, he enjoyed joyful days spent at the lake in the back of his truck, where laughter and love flourished in every moment.Alfredo's journey through life was marked with resilience and dedication, working tirelessly until he was no longer able. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him. Alfredo leaves behind a legacy of hard work, love for family, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys of life. May he rest in peace.

Alfredo was preceded in death by his parents, Jesus and Manuela Gonzalez, his beloved wife Maria Gonzalez, brother Arnulfo Gonzalez, sister Maria de los Angeles Gonzalez and grandson Miguel Rocha. He is survived by his brothers and sisters, Raquel Gonzalez, Rut Gonzalez, Rebeca Gonzalez, Irma Ramirez, Sylvia Chapa and Eliazar Chapa; his children, Jose Alfredo Gonzalez, Lorena Gonzalez, Melly Siller, Yuditt Gonzalez, Josue Gonzalez, Claudia Gonzalez and Vianey Gonzalez; his grandchildren, Karen Ramirez, Joyce Ramirez, Victor Arizpe, Miguel Siller, Crystal Gonzalez, Alfredo Gonzalez, Angel Gonzalez, Mercedes McBride, Byron McBride, Jr. and Trameon Sanchez, Jr., plus multiple great-grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
