Eddie Ray Hyer, Jr., 32 of Abilene, passed away in Euless on May 28, 2013. A graveside service is scheduled for 10:00 am Saturday June 1, 2013 in the Eula Cemetery under the direction of Piersall Benton Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut St. A visitation will be held Friday evening from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
Eddie was born to Eddie Ray Hyer Sr. and Penny Hoffman Pogrant in Abilene, Texas. He attended schools in Abilene and played on the football team at Abilene High School that went far in the state playoffs. Eddie loved all sports and played baseball, soccer and football growing up. Eddie loved to fish especially at Lake Ft. Phantom. Before leaving Abilene to start a new decorative concrete business in Euless, Eddie worked on the wind farms.
Surviving Eddie are his father, Eddie Ray Hyer Sr. and wife Kandi of Abilene and his mother, Penny Pogrant of Abilene, a son Bryson Ray Hyer, a sister, Jennifer Kay Hyer, grandparents, Betty and Jerry Conine, a niece, Bethany Kay Brooks a nephew, Kanan Ware, several cousins, aunts and uncle as well as many friends who will miss him greatly. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Jackie Lee Hyer, and grandparents, Kathleen and Edward Essex and Aunt Mable Davis.
