Zella Florence Sheppard

Zella Florence Sheppard, 92, passed away in Las Cruces, New Mexico on Thursday, October 11, 2012. A graveside service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at the Necessity Cemetery in Stephens County under the direction of Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut St in Abilene.

Zella was born on January 3, 1920 to John Benjamin Truesdell and Ethel Gray Truesdell in Stephens County, Texas near Breckenridge. She grew up in the Breckenridge area and has always enjoyed a close connection with that community.

Surviving Zella are her two children Barbara Daniel and husband Ron of Abilene and Toni Baker and husband Larry of Las Cruces, NM, three sisters; Jackie Hardin of Odessa, TX, Naomi Taylor of Breckenridge, TX and Portia Forester of Baytown, TX. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and many extended family members.
